Why Can't I See an Entity Type Field in Procore
If the Entity Type field (or your organization's equivalent identifier field) isn't visible in Procore, it's typically due to your Company Directory configuration or your user permissions. This article explains the most common causes and how to make the field available.
What this means
- Breadcrumb’s Procore directory sync relies on a company identifier field in Procore (License Number / EIN-type field).
- If you can’t see that field in Procore, you won’t be able to fill it out, and suppliers may not sync correctly.
When you’ll use this
- When a subcontractor/company isn’t syncing from Procore into Breadcrumb.
- When Procore shows the company record, but the identifier field required for sync is missing from the form you’re looking at.
Requirements
To view or update your Company Directory settings in Procore, you must have Admin permissions.
If you don't have the required access, please contact your Procore administrator.

Common Issues
I’m in a project and can’t find it anywhere
What to check
-
The field is typically in the Company Directory, not the Project Directory.
What to do
-
Switch to Company Tools → Directory → Companies and edit the company record there.
Only some users can see it
What to check
-
Permission level differences.
What to do
-
Have a Procore Admin confirm permissions and test with an admin login.
We can’t sync suppliers without it
What to check
-
Breadcrumb supplier sync depends on a reliable identifier (License Number / EIN).
What to do
-
Get that field visible and populated for each subcontractor/company, then wait for the next sync (or run a manual/force refresh if your process supports it).
Why this matters
- Without a consistent identifier field in Procore, supplier matching becomes unreliable and can lead to missed syncs or duplicate suppliers in Breadcrumb.
