What is Breadcrumb? A 2-minute intro for Workers

Breadcrumb is a jobsite safety tool your General Contractor uses to help keep everyone safe and accountable on site.

Breadcrumb helps you:

  • Get oriented faster (often before you even arrive)

  • Sign in to the jobsite without long lines or paper logs

  • Keep your safety info in one place (so you don’t repeat the same admin at every site)

  • Stay in the loop with important jobsite messages

What you’ll do in Breadcrumb

1) Complete your orientation (one-time per site)

Depending on the job site, you might get an orientation link ahead of time, or you’ll scan a QR code at the gate/trailer.

You’ll typically:

  • Confirm your details (name, phone, company, etc.)
  • Review site rules and safety info
  • Sign the required documents

2) Add your cards/certifications (as needed)

If the GC requires it, you can upload things like:

  • OSHA 10/30
  • Equipment tickets/licenses
  • Any other required certifications for the job

Good to know:

  • You usually only upload these once—Breadcrumb keeps them on your profile for next time.

3) Sign in when you arrive on site (daily)

Most sites will have a QR code to scan (your foreman may also be able to sign the crew in, depending on the setup).

Once you’ve finished orientation, daily sign-in is quick:

  • Scan
  • Confirm
  • You’re in

Do I need to download the app?

Not always.

  • If you’re only on site once, you can usually sign in without downloading the app.
  • If you’ll be back, the app can make things faster and easier.

Why does this matter?

Breadcrumb helps the jobsite team:

  • Know who is on site (important for emergencies and evacuations)
  • Keep required safety records organized and audit-ready
  • Reduce paperwork so crews can get to work sooner

Is my information safe?

Your information is used for job site safety and compliance.

If you have questions about what’s required on your jobsite or why something is being requested, ask your site team or safety manager.

Troubleshooting

Can’t open the link or QR code? Ask your foreman or site team for a new link.
Not sure what to upload? Ask the site team what’s required for this job site.
Stuck mid-way? Close the page/app and try again—then ask the site team if it still won’t go through.
