Web Portal Overview for Admins

The Breadcrumb Portal gives site administrators the tools to manage site access, monitor workforce compliance, and maintain visibility across their projects. Use it to configure site settings, send orientation links, and access attendance records, registers, and reports based on your company's setup.

What this means

  • The web portal is the admin control center for configuring sites and reviewing workforce activity and compliance.

  • It complements the mobile app, which is typically used for day-to-day on-the-ground actions like check-in and check out.

When you’ll use this

  • When you need to set up or adjust a site’s rules (for example: check-in approval mode, location rules, QR codes, and other site settings).

  • When you need to send an off-site orientation link to a subcontractor admin or team, and confirm that people have completed the required steps.

  • When you need to review activity, attendance, or orientation-related records for a company or specific jobsite.

Step-by-step

Common issues

Can’t find the right jobsite or subcontractor

What to check

  • Confirm the project and company data are syncing correctly based on your setup (some job sites sync from connected systems and can take time to appear).

What to do

  • Refresh, re-check filters/search, and confirm you are in the correct company context before making changes.

Orientation link sent, but workers still show incomplete

What to check

  • Confirm the worker completed the full orientation flow (including required acknowledgements and any required documents). Some job sites also require specific visitor type selections or additional steps.

What to do

  • Resend the off-site orientation link and have the worker try again. If the jobsite has multiple orientations, confirm they completed the correct one for that jobsite.

Settings don’t match what the field team expects

What to check

  • Review Site Settings for check-in/check-out rules, location requirements, and any jobsite-specific approval mode that could affect the flow.

What to do

Align on the jobsite’s intended workflow (some jobsites use stricter settings), then update the site settings and communicate the change to the project team.

Why this matters

  • Correct portal setup reduces day-one onboarding friction and helps avoid delays at the jobsite gate.

  • Accurate settings and visibility help admin teams keep compliance under control without becoming a bottleneck for day-to-day field operations.

Need help?

If something looks wrong or you’re unsure what a setting does on your jobsite, contact your foreman or the GC site team to confirm the required workflow. They can also help verify what the jobsite expects for orientation and check-in/check-out.
