Send a Site Alert

Keep everyone on site informed with Site Alerts. Send important messages to all workers currently checked in, making it easy to communicate urgent safety updates, access changes, and other time-sensitive information.

What this means

  • A Site Alert is a broadcast message to on-site workers.
  • Delivery is typically by push notification in the app (and some setups may also support SMS, depending on configuration and user/device setup).

When you’ll use this

  • A hazard is identified, and you need to notify everyone on site right now
  • An area is closed, an entry point changes, or there’s a safety stand-down
  • Weather, emergency services, or GC instructions require immediate comms

Step-by-step

Common Issues

My message got cut off

What to check

  • There appears to be a character limit when sending site alerts from the web (messages can be truncated around the ~670 character range).

What to do

  • Keep the alert short and action-focused
  • If you need bilingual messaging, consider sending two separate alerts (English first, Spanish second)

A site host didn’t receive the alert

What to check

  • They may not be checked in to that site at the time the alert was sent
  • Their phone may have push notifications disabled, low power mode, or background restrictions

What to do

  • Have them check in (if appropriate for your process) and confirm notifications are enabled for the app

Workers didn’t receive it

What to check

  • They may not have the app installed (push won’t reach them)
  • They may not be checked in to the correct site

What to do

  • Confirm they are checked in on the right site in Attendance, and use an alternate comms method if needed

Why this matters

  • Site Alerts are one of the fastest ways to communicate safety-critical information to everyone on the jobsite at once.

  • Clear, short alerts reduce confusion and speed up response time.

Need help?

If you can’t access Site Alerts in Host view, contact your foreman or GC site team to confirm you have the site host permission to send site alerts for that jobsite.
