How Does the Daily Log Integration Work

The Daily Log integration automatically syncs attendance and work hours recorded in Breadcrumb to your project's Daily Log in Procore. This keeps your daily manpower records accurate and up to date, eliminating the need to manually enter attendance information in both systems.

What this means

  • Breadcrumb calculates each person’s time on site from their check-in and check-out activity.
  • Those hours are synced into Procore’s Daily Log (for example, manpower and visitor logs), based on how the person is set up in Procore.

When you’ll use this

  • When you want Procore’s Daily Log to reflect the hours people worked on the jobsite based on Breadcrumb sign-ins.
  • When you need a single source of truth in Procore for daily workforce and visitor activity (depending on your Procore setup).

Requirements

  • To access the Integration settings, you must be a Company Host with Has All Permissions enabled.

  • Note: If you don't have access, please contact your Breadcrumb administrator to request the required permissions.

Key Considerations

  1. Confirm the Procore integration is active and Daily Log sync is enabled in your Breadcrumb integration settings.
  2. Ensure workers and companies are set up correctly in Procore (especially employee vs subcontractor vs visitor classification).
  3. Have workers check in and check out in Breadcrumb as normal on the jobsite.
  4. Wait for the next sync cycle. Hours are not always instant and may take time to appear in Procore.
  5. In Procore, open the project’s Daily Log for the relevant date and review the updated entries.

How Breadcrumb Determines a Person's Type in Procore

A person's selection during their Breadcrumb induction (Employee, Subcontractor, or Visitor) does not determine how they appear in Procore.

Instead, Breadcrumb uses a combination of information collected during the orientation and your Procore project settings to determine whether the person is created as an Employee, Subcontractor, or Visitor.

Employee

A person is synced to Procore as an Employee when all of the following conditions are met:

  • Country Code is populated in their Procore profile.

  • Mobile Phone is populated in Procore and matches the mobile number used in Breadcrumb.

  • Is an Employee of {Company Name} is selected in their Procore profile.

Subcontractor

A person is synced to Procore as a Subcontractor when:

  • A Company is collected during the Breadcrumb orientation.

  • The company exists in the Project Directory in Procore.

  • The company has an EIN or License Number recorded in Procore.

Visitor

A person is synced to Procore as a Visitor when:

  • No Company is collected during the Breadcrumb induction, or

  • A company is collected, but it does not exist in the Procore Project Directory. This ensures visitors are not incorrectly linked to a subcontractor company in Procore.

Configure Daily Log Integration Settings in your Breadcrumb Environment

Step 1: Open the Integration Settings (Breadcrumb CSM to Configure)

  1. In the Breadcrumb Web Portal, click your name in the top-right corner.

  2. Select Integrations from the drop-down menu.

  3. Open the Procore Integration tab.

  4. Scroll to Export Check-ins As.

Step 2: Review the Export Settings

Choose how each type of entry is synced to Procore.

Timecard (Employees Only)

Controls which employees are exported to the Timecard section in the Procore Daily Log.

  • Disabled – Timecard syncing is turned off.
  • Employees Only – Only employees are sent to the Timecard.

Visitor Log

Controls who is exported to the Visitor Log.

  • Disabled – Visitor Log syncing is turned off.
  • Everyone – Employees, subcontractors, and visitors are included.
  • Everyone Except Employees – Only subcontractors and visitors are included.
  • Visitors Only – Only visitors are included.

Manpower Log

Controls who is exported to the Manpower Log.

  • Disabled – Manpower Log syncing is turned off.
  • Everyone – Employees, subcontractors, and visitors are included.
  • Everyone Except Employees – Only subcontractors and visitors are included.
  • Subcontractors Only – Only subcontractors are included.
  • Aggregated for Subcontractors – Subcontractors are grouped by their supplier (company).
  • Aggregated for Subcontractors and Employees – Employees and subcontractors are grouped by their supplier (company).

Step 3: Review the Additional Settings

These options control how often Breadcrumb syncs data and what information is included in Procore.

  • Sync Incomplete Log
    • On – Breadcrumb updates the Procore Daily Log every 10–15 minutes throughout the day.
    • Off – Breadcrumb updates the Daily Log only after the day has ended.
  • Include Timecard Description
When enabled, each Timecard entry includes the worker's mobile number in the comments field.
  • Include Manpower Log Description
When enabled, each Manpower Log entry includes the worker's mobile number in the comments field.
  • Include Visitor Log Description
When enabled, each Visitor Log entry includes the visitor's mobile number in the comments field.

Common Issues

Workers showing in the wrong section (manpower vs visitors vs time cards)

What to check

  • Check how the person is classified in Procore (employee vs non-employee) and whether they are checking in under a company that exists in Procore.

What to do

  • Update the person’s setup in Procore (and ensure the right company exists in Procore) so future entries land in the correct section.

Hours seem delayed or not updated yet

What to check

  • Check whether the Procore integration is currently rate-limited or experiencing delays, and confirm the worker has actually checked out (some setups only finalize total hours after check-out).

What to do

  • Allow additional time for sync to complete, then re-check the Daily Log. If it’s still missing, use any available manual resync option in the integration settings (if enabled for your environment).

Closed or completed Daily Log not updating

What to check

  • Check whether the Procore Daily Log for that date is closed/completed and whether your environment supports updating closed logs (some setups require a “reopen completed site diary” capability).

What to do

  • If your setup does not reopen closed logs automatically, you may need to reopen the Procore Daily Log (if your permissions allow) before updates can be applied.

People checking in under a company that does not exist in Procore

What to check

  • Confirm the subcontractor/company exists in Procore and is correctly linked to the project.

What to do

  • Create or fix the company record in Procore (and any required unique identifiers), then re-check future sync behavior.

Why this matters

  • Reduces manual admin work by keeping Procore’s Daily Log aligned with actual check-in/check-out activity.
  • Improves the accuracy of daily labor and visitor records used for reporting and compliance.
