Breadcrumb Agents for Procore: Help Guide

Overview

Breadcrumb offers two AI agents that run inside Procore's AI chat and use your Breadcrumb data to keep your site safe and your high risk work on track. You stay in Procore.

Agent What it does Who uses it How you start it
Observations to the Site Turns a Procore Observation into a bilingual (English and Spanish) SMS safety alert and sends it to all workers checked in to your site, instantly Superintendents, project managers, safety managers Ask in Procore AI chat, for example "Send a site alert for the latest observation"
High Risk Task Tracker Are you ready for the upcoming high risk activities on site? Project managers, superintendents, safety managers Ask in Procore AI chat, for example "Run high risk task analysis"

Checks whether upcoming high risk tasks have the documents and worker cards they need, and lists what is outstanding | Project managers, superintendents, safety managers | Ask in Procore AI chat, for example "Run high risk task analysis" |

Before you start

  • Your Procore project is connected to your Breadcrumb workspace.
  • The Breadcrumb connection (MCP) is enabled for the agent in Procore.
  • Your workers and company documents are being uploaded to Breadcrumb.

Agent usage is metered in credits through Procore's agent marketplace. Each run uses credits.

Observations to the Site: Support Article

Observations to the Site turns a hazard you log in Procore into a short safety alert your workers get by SMS, in English and Spanish. Nothing is sent until you approve the message.

How it works

  1. You log the hazard in Procore Observations. Add a clear subject, a description of the hazard, and the area affected (for example "Spill at east entrance, use west gate").
  2. You ask the agent to alert the site. In Procore AI chat, type something like "I've just created an observation, alert my site".
  3. The agent finds the Observation.
  4. The agent writes the alert. It pulls out the hazard and what workers need to do (closed areas, detours, what to avoid) and writes a plain, conversational message.
  5. The agent translates it. The English message is translated into Spanish, using common construction and safety terms.
  6. You review a preview. The agent shows you the full alert in Procore chat and asks for approval. Ask for changes as many times as you need.
  7. The agent sends it. Once you approve, the alert goes out through Breadcrumb as an SMS Site Alert to your workers.

What the alert looks like

Every alert uses the same layout and stays within 610 characters, English and Spanish combined.

SAFETY ALERT Chemical spill at the east entrance. The east gate is closed until further notice. Please use the west gate and keep clear of the area. --------------------- Derrame de químicos en la entrada este. La puerta este está cerrada hasta nuevo aviso. Por favor usen la puerta oeste y manténganse alejados del área. ---------------------

Example requests

  • "I've just created an observation, alert my site"
  • "We've had a spill on the driveway, help me alert my site"
  • "Send a site alert for the latest observation"
  • "Alert the site about the observation I logged for the Level 2 scaffold"

Tips for a good alert

  • Write the Observation description in plain words. The agent will turn it into a conversational message
  • Keep one hazard per Observation. Several hazards in one alert are hard to fit in 610 characters.

High Risk Task Tracker: Support Article

High Risk Task Tracker tells you, for each upcoming high risk task, whether the required documents and worker cards are in Breadcrumb, and what is still outstanding. It reports what your records show. It does not approve documents or clear work to go ahead.

What it checks

Each high risk task is set up with a responsible supplier, a task date, a submission date, required documents and worker license/card requirements. For example:

Task Supplier Required documents Required cards (at least one worker)
Crane lift Steel erector Pick Plan, Site Specific Safety Plan (SSSP) Crane Operator Licence or Certified Rigger Licence
Energized electrical work Electrical contractor Energized Work Plan, SSSP Qualified Electrical Worker (NFPA 70E) or Arc Flash Training

For every task, the agent looks up the supplier's documents and worker cards in Breadcrumb and gives each required item a status.

What the statuses mean

Status Documents Card requirement
READY Approved, and not expired on the task date. At least one named worker at the supplier has the relevant card on file. Expired cards are flagged
NOT READY Pending, in review, submitted, rejected, expired, or expiring on or before the task date. Not used for cards.
MISSING Breadcrumb has no matching document for this supplier. No named worker at the supplier has a card on file.
UNKNOWN Breadcrumb didn't respond or returned an error. Breadcrumb didn't respond or returned an error.

A task is READY only when all three items are READY. Any document that is NOT READY, MISSING or UNKNOWN makes the task NOT READY.

What the report looks like

The agent answers as a checklist, one block per task. The last two lines of each block tell you what to chase.

Crane Lift - Erect Steel Columns/Beams Levels 3-4 Task Date: 2026-10-21 Task Submission Date: 2026-09-23 Task Documents Required: * Pick Plan: Approved, expires 2030-09-30. Status: READY * SSSP: No record found for this supplier. Status: MISSING Task Cards Required: * Crane Operator Licence / Certified Rigger Licence: Daniel Rodriguez, Renee Van Dyke (card type and expiry not returned by Breadcrumb). Status: READY Outstanding: SSSP (MISSING) Task Status: NOT READY

Example requests

  • "Run high risk task analysis"
  • "Check my schedule for upcoming high risk tasks"
  • "Are we ready for the crane lift next month?"
  • "What documents am I still waiting on for the high risk work coming up?"

Acting on the report

  • MISSING document: Request the company to upload it to Breadcrumb again.
  • NOT READY document: review and approve it in Breadcrumb, or ask the company for an updated version if it is rejected or expires before the task.
  • MISSING cards: ask the company to add worker cards for the crew doing the task.
  • UNKNOWN: run the agent again. If it stays UNKNOWN, see Getting help.

Run the agent again after any change. It always reads the latest records.

Data & Permissions

Both agents only use data you can already see in Procore and Breadcrumb, and only one of them sends anything.

Observations to the Site High Risk Task Tracker
Reads from Procore Your Observations Your schedule (Optional)
Reads from Breadcrumb No Supplier documents, document types, worker cards
Writes or sends Create SMS Site Alert Nothing. Read only.
Changes records No No

Who is responsible for the alert. You write the Observation and approve the alert. The agent drafts, translates and delivers it. The English text is always included in the alert next to the Spanish, so the original wording is kept.

FAQ and troubleshooting

Most problems come from a missing connection, a vague request, or records that aren't in Breadcrumb yet.

Problem Agent What to do
The agent says Breadcrumb is not connected Both Ask your Procore admin to check the Breadcrumb connection is enabled for the agent, then try again.
The agent picked the wrong Observation Observations to the Site Tell it the project and the Observation subject, for example "the Level 2 scaffold observation on Northgate".
A worker didn't get the SMS Observations to the Site Check the worker is checked in to the site on Breadcrumb.
